Vienna House Easy: Interior branding for an entire hotel group
Thirteen former 3* hotels change hands and reinvent themselves as a budget design line. I’ve been thinking about what that might look like.
Thirteen former 3* hotels change hands and reinvent themselves as a budget design line. I’ve been thinking about what that might look like.
Lobby, bar, café, restaurant, seminar and fitness area, courtyard and break out area, as well as 100 rooms each at a total of 13 locations needed a new look to compete in the budget design hotel market. The client’s specifications were stringent, fresh and quick to implement.
An overarching design language was developed for the Vienna House Easy brand, whose recognition value brands each hotel as part of the group while leaving enough room for its independent identity. Each house was given a unique location-based CI (cooperation with UTOUP Design) that playfully integrates local features into the interior: The skyline of the location as carpet pattern, city maps as wall decoration in the lobby or local sights as picture motifs in the rooms give each house its personal touch.
In addition to the holistic redesign of all rooms, the public areas (matched to inventory, budget and timing) were also restructured, expanded and radically transformed in their material and color aesthetics.
The renovation was followed by a 4-star categorization of all hotels. The success also had an impact on the competition – hotels in Berlin, Leipzig and Raunheim have joined the new brand.
